On Taking Chances

She looked at him closely as he moved towards greeting her with a kiss. She smiled and he smiled back as the light in his eyes brightens up she saw hers grew brighter. The morning air started to fill in with sand and much heat as summer comes in a halt. She slid her hands in his sides feeling the warm skin under his shirt. She felt the rush to hold him tighter. It's been a long week of separation, of dry land thirsting for water, of tasteless days of just getting by through work and the mundane of things that  made every second seem to last longer until he comes making the day better than yesterday.

She tried to keep it cool. Hiding more what she can feel. Cover up with layers of calmness reminding herself the nightmares she used to have every single night not very long time ago. She knew what a broken heart feels like and if the glass will ever be broken she isn't scared to walk on them and nurse the wound that were not new.

Maybe he's different. They seem to like him. A lot.
She loves him. But she's scared.
If love is a gamble, this is her biggest bet yet.
