Hello Brisbane!

Just came back from a 6-day trip to Brisbane then Auckland and back. I was expecting to not like it but  surprisingly I loved my stay. The Hilton hotel was located at the center and I found it very easy to go shopping and dine out. And man, this time of the year the weather was just amazing. Not cold not hot. Just breezy and perfect and sunny but not scorching. I just can't wait to be back.  I was craving Korean all the way and yeah, I got what I wanted. Just imagine eating kimchi lunch and dinner for 5 days straight. And seriously I enjoyed every minute with  my bibimbap and spicy soup and my endless fill of korean barbecue. But on our last day I took a break and order chicken strips and hotdog sandwiches. We originally planned to see the koalas but the 14-hour flight made it impossible for us to get up and bother. So in the end, we ended up just taking photos with stuffed koalas in a local souvernir shop. Haha. I didn't do much in Auckland. I did not sleep before our flight to Auckland so I just spent my stay in bed recharging. I did some beauty stuff shopping and just dying to fly back to Dubai and be with my husband. We haven't been on a real honeymoon yet. Hopefully this June will be a little bit less busy for him. Dubai is boiling. I can't imagine staying out the sun more than five minutes. The cruel, nasty humidity started. People really can't do much outdoor. I have Australia again next month then I'm on leave. Yey! Hope we can go somewhere cooler than Dubai.

My well-deserved treat! Sizzling Calamari Bibimbap! Yum!!!

Sending Postcard...

Since we missed meeting real Koalas... here we are with the stuffed Koalas...

The ONE

Been in Australia last week and I'm coming back there on Sunday. 'Really wishing it's JFK flight instead. Oh well.

Sorry my dear blog for not putting much updates or at least pictures in the past few weeks. I've been so busy lately with work and stitching up together a simple wedding here in Dubai. Yeah! That fast! We decided to get hitched here and have a follow-up celebration in the Philippines or in Ukraine together with our parents and close relatives and friends next year. Everything happens like a whirlwind. Eventhough I was blessed with so many days off, they seemed not enough to get things done. Plus the fact that I'm having bad episodes of headaches and heart burns! Chocolate indulgence can't seem to help me anyhow.

I feel so blissfully happy to finally reached  this stage in my life.
I finally found the ONE. The much elusive One as they say. Kissed a few frogs along the day 'til I met my real Prince Charming. It all made sense in the end you know. The heartaches in the past were lessons learned and something to remind us that what is meant to be will be. Lift everything to God and everything is going to be alright.

Two years of dating really is enough to find out if there's a future together.
Being with him is easy and light and carefree. It's not like lifting a 100-pound weight to get things going. He makes me feel loved and beautiful and important. I need not worry. He gives me security. And everyone in my family loves him . And I love his family too! It's amazing how suddenly the tiles in the puzzle fall right into place. Swiftly.

I am about to embark on a new journey and I am so excited.
I might have to stop flying for a while and focus on something else, building my own family.
Gosh, it's a milestone to reach 30 and watch how each of my dreams come true right before my eyes! We have an amazing God! He answers our prayers! Sometimes it takes time, but in the end we'll realize HIS timing has always been perfect!

From here in Dubai and from the rest of my remaining travels,
I am signing off as a Miss...

xoxo,
Skinny Girl

In other News ... lol!

8 REASONS WHY IT's NEVER OKAY FOR A MAN TO TAKE A SELFIE

Disclaimer: This post is satirical and meant to be humorous.
In navigating through the various cat memes and pictures of ugly kids on Facebook, we have noticed an alarming recent trend: guys uploading selfies.
What we have to say about this is, simply… Stop. Now. It is completely unacceptable for a man to upload selfies to his social media account, not to mention, take photos of himself to begin with.
Here’s why:

1. Selfies are strictly for women.

Women take selfies in order to show things off to the world that men really don’t care about.
Women like to boast about their new hair color, how well they applied their makeup, how good their lips look in their new shade of lipstick, their fresh pedicures (even though their toes are still beyond help), hot outfits and cute puppies.
Women also take selfies in order to display things men really do care about, such as cleavage from multiple angles and what they look like in their “pajamas” while they are just, you know, lying around all “sleepy” and “bored.”
In short, unless you have boobs, don’t take selfies.

2. Selfies aren’t manly.

It is a rule of law that men are allowed to have a maximum of three photos of themselves: one from their first day of school, the second on their driver’s license and the third – if they are unfortunate enough to be married – from their wedding day.
Single men are, of course, allowed to have an additional photos of themselves — in a Batman outfit.

3. Selfies are for attention seekers.

Selfies send the message to the world that you desperately crave attention and validation. They also reveal that deep down, you’re a little boy lost in the big world.
If you want attention, call your mom.

4. Selfies are for shallow people.

If the only thing you have to offer the world is a shirtless selfie, then there really isn’t much to your personality after all. If you’ve got nothing useful to contribute to society, just go sit in your room and watch porn.
… Or write an article about selfies.

5. Selfies don’t help you pull girls.

Remember, Hugh Hefner earned millions of dollars and an entire mansion of chicks by taking pictures of them, rather than post-gym selfies of himself.

6. Selfies suggest you have a really small penis.

Research* suggests that men who upload selfies have below average penis sizes.
*We just made this up; there is no actual research. However, given that this is the standard insult for any annoying behavior exhibited by men, we figured it might as well apply here, too.

7. Chuck Norris doesn’t take selfies.

Which is good because there are no cameras on earth capable of adequately capturing the great man and we need the Hubble Space Telescope where it is. It’s doing important stuff, like spying on Mars.

8. Justin Bieber takes selfies.

Bieber also has a sleeve of tattoos, so you might want to re-think just how badass your new “ink” really is.

There are loopholes, however:

As with all laws there are, of course, loopholes.
Here are the limited circumstances in which taking a selfie is acceptable:
1. You have been kidnapped.
You desperately need to upload a selfie so Liam Neeson can come save you.
2. You are Snapchatting.

Hopefully not below the equator, so to speak.
The next time you think about posting a selfie, ask yourself the following: Am I an unmanly, attention-seeking, shallow, small-penised, sissy girl?
Or, to put it more simply, ask yourself, am I Justin Bieber?
Second Disclaimer: still satire.

Munich

It's been awhile since I got the chance to just sit down and write. I've been everywhere lately. Running errands and going to work.

I'm back in Munich. And I got a 2-day layover just when I don't need it. I need to be in Dubai. Anyway, what the hell. I'm paid to do this.

As much as I wanted to join the rest of the crew for a long drive to the Sleeping Beauty castle I just decided to sleep and spend my day in front of the TV. The weather outside looks amazing. No more rain insight. Just light breeze and tons of sunshine. I'm a bit upset not to be having any New York flights this month. I got two Aussie flights instead. Not very happy.

So I'm getting married! Yey! I'm more than happy! I always dream of having a beach wedding. Let's see what's in store.

Since my surgery last March I started having this fear. I pray earnestly for healing. And I did the drastic diet to avoid having the cyst to grow back. I started eating in the healthiest way possible. No soy, no gluten, no sugar, less red meat, no processed foods, no dairy. My grocery shopping includes quinoa, salmon, broccoli, kale, fruits, sweet potatoes, skinless chicken, maca root powder, chia seeds and all of those other Superfoods . I deprived myself of chocolates and red velvet cheesecakes. I avoided airplane crap food. I only had salad or bring my own food. And you know what, it pays. My cramps disappear like magic. My girlie bits feels better on the inside. I have so much energy. I feel well, after a long time. One of the bad sides of having Endometriosis is unexplained infertility for some women. My reproductive health is at its best after the surgery. I am so grateful to God for being one of those women who are fortunate not being affected by the disease.

Most women have these two major fears in life: not being able to get married and not being able to conceive. Just having the confirmation that I don't need to face these fears makes me appreciate my life even more. I know there are still things that I want in life like a big house and a million dollar account but I guess having other things money can't buy make me put a higher on other things.Material possessions are not really the ones that makes life worth living. It's having a family, somebody to come home to, something to look forward to, something that makes you want to keep going no matter how tough the situation becomes.

I learned that if it's meant to be it will be. It may take a week, a month, a year or a lifetime but it will surely come. And when it does, it really is the best feeling ever!

I was having high expectations over my pork knuckles. It's just too much for me. I really don't like Europe on a Sunday. I have no choice but eat overpriced hotel crap.

Have a great week ahead!
