A little bit of cool this summer

Weather Update

The weather in Dubai is getting to the extremes this time of the year. As much as I want to just lounge in the beach to get some tan it would not be such a good idea. The heat is actually making my head spin since yesterday.  I am not staying outdoors quite a lot and yet I feel like there's a heat wave indoors. 42degress and high level of humidity and the AC is on full high. Oh, this headache is ruining my mood to get  things done.

Last night I tried to stay up late to finish a movie but ended up sleeping without  realizing it. I woke up in the middle of the night with my laptop still on and the lights all bright. And today while watching Ellen on Youtube I just snooze again unknowingly then woken up by the bright sun hitting my eyes. I feel sluggish.

Ramadan is just around the corner and its a blessing for not having any Middle East turnarounds.Although I plan to participate in prayer and fasting  weekend  of my Church, sometimes dealing with nervous and hungry people on-board can sometimes eat all my patience away. Oh, it's nice to see Europe this time of the year. Summer without getting "burn" literally. Good to have a better roster for July.

While I rant about the heat in Dubai, back home my folks are suffering from a typhoon Signal Number 2. I hope no heavy flooding will result from this and I hope that electricity won't be cut off for so long. I used to remember way back when we were still young I was just so terrified of storms. The sound of crashing branches of trees and roofs flying around makes me feel like I am in Noah's ark. Like you won't see the light of day anytime soon. Then after the storm insects abound. Sometimes you can just see a snake here and there dead and alive, gigantic spiders searching their destroyed hideouts and lost dogs and cats looking for their offspring.

It's fascinating to be in the same planet and yet experiencing two different things.
Same is true in this life, we may have  the same kind of problems but we have different ways of handling them.
We may be in the same generation and yet we are in completely different phases in our lives.
Some are newbies while others are already pro and there's still the rest of us who are still figuring out what's out there that awaits us.
Everything has its season.
Who knows yours might be coming...

Be safe everyone!

Lets do this!

7Fab ways to avoid hair fall

Having a lot of hair come out of your scalp after each shower can be scary, especially if you already have really thin hair! If you've been dying to find some natural ways to avoid falling hair, take a look at my tips:

1. Ginger Juice

It sounds a little weird, right? Using ginger root as one of the ways to avoid falling hair? Well, ginger root is one of those amazing roots that will actually stimulate your hair follicles so that it'll keep growing beautifully! There are two ways that you can use the ginger, as an oil or as ginger water.

Ginger Water: To extract ginger juice, peel about 6 ounces of fresh ginger and place it in a blender with ¼ cup of water. Blend until the ginger root becomes a fine pulp. Line a small bowl with two or three layers of cheesecloth and pour the pureed mixture onto the cheesecloth. Gather the edges of the cheesecloth edges together, twist and hold them as you squeeze as much juice a possible from the cheesecloth into the bowl. Apply the juice directly to your scalp, leave it on for five to 10 minutes and shampoo as usual.

Ginger Oil: For a ginger oil treatment, grate fresh ginger root and mix it with sesame oil. Massage the ginger oil into your scalp and leave it on for about 10 minutes. Rinse and shampoo your hair.

2. Protein Shakes

Did you know that protein is another way that you can boost your hair growth and that you can stop your hair from falling out? For me, I started to drink a protein shake in the morning (and upped my intake on fish!) and it absolutely helped my hair look full, look beautiful and grow really long!

3. Vitamin B12

Another great way to stop your hair falling is to up your intake of vitamin B12! Vitamin B12 is a completely water-soluble nutrient that is essential when you are trying to maintain healthy cells. This vitamin actually allows for more creation of red blood cells, which provide your body with oxygen.

4. Lavender/Jojoba Oil Scalp Massage

Lavender is one of the most calming essential oils out there, but did you know if you mix it with a little bit of almond oil and massage it right into your scalp, you'll end up with hair that is super luscious and that won't fall out? Just about 10 drops of lavender oil, 10 drops of rosemary oil, 5 drops of basil oil and about two tablespoons of jojoba oil all mixed in about a ¼ cup of almond oil can work wonders! Leave the treatment on for about 20 minutes and massage in really well!

5. Green Tea

I absolutely love green tea. It has a ton of different benefits and drinking two to four cups can actually increase your body's immune system, which in turn will clear out your body of toxins and will absolutely help stop and reverse hair loss completely! Remember, it can take a little while for this treatment to work!

6. Don't Brush Your Hair Wet

I have a really hard time with this one! When your hair is wet, it's more prone to breaking, so when it's wet, use a comb, don't brush it! Also, it's super important not to sleep on your hair when it is wet, because it can cause your hair to break even more.

7. Aloe Vera & Honey

Another great way to stop your hair from falling out is by using aloe leaves and honey! All you do is cut open three aloe vera leaves, scrape out the gel, mix with a bit of honey and apply it to your scalp. Let it work into your scalp for about 20 minutes and then you can rinse and shampoo. It might be a little sticky, so beware!

While some hair falling out is normal, you don't want to lose all of your hair! Try these hair growth treatments and let us know how they work! Do you have any more that work?

Thoughts on The Plane

During the hours of nothing to do @ 40,000 feet...
I was left with these amazing words of wisdom for myself...

1. If you love yourself enough, you will never be alone.
You found balance in being with someone and being with yourself.

2. If you believe in HIS Amazing-ness. There is nothing to Fear.
You have a Bigger God for your Big problems.

3. That the only regret you will ever have is not trying, and not giving your best.

4. Love is madness. If it's not mad, it ain't love.
Enjoy it. Savour it. It could either be a lesson or a blessing.

5. The less you care about what others think, the better you see yourself in the mirror.

6. The best way to create your future is to think only Positive thoughts.

7. If he loves you, He will let you know. If something's wrong, don't be so dramatic.
Be strong. Have a bigger heart.

8. Traveling is exciting. But there is no painkillers invented for flight delays.
You want to punch the passenger, but you ended up punching yourself.

9. Shopping , sometimes is the best medicine.

10. Get enough sleep. It does wonders.

Finally found the Church I see from my hotel window, too bad their service is only in Korean...

My favorite go-to restaurant in Gangnam. One of the few with English Menu.

Bulgogi, Kimbap and a side dish of pickled radish and Kimchi

Have a little heart and Seoul

It feels like I was some character in a hit Korean Telenovela...

One thing about Seoul that I liked the most {aside from my growing fondness in anything with kimchi} is their shameless PDA everywhere anytime any age. Sort of I was the only lonely person in the world walking solo without someone holding my hand. At first I thought I was exaggerating but seeing the number of young adults in their skimpy outfits kissing and canoodling in broad daylight I realized that romance and affection is just how they roll. I started to wonder how much pressure their society is implementing to their young generation to be in a relationship. Seriously, my recent trip made me crave for my significant other since everyone there were acting lovey-dovey up in cloud nine. It looks like if you're alone and single you're nothing but a total outcast.

During my gastronomic feast dining alone in the corner of my go-to restaurant in Gangnam I was left with no choice of seating preference since table for one is not the norm. It was sad facing only the glass window looking over the passerby which include of people whispering sweet-nothings in each others ear. I don't know if the importance of being in a relationship has something to do with the Korean's being so obsessed with plastic surgery? Given the high priority they give to be attractive in order to attract potential mates. Just when I thought Dubai is competitive enough somewhere out there Carrie Bradshaw is no longer popular but Bella Swan who couldn't live without an Edward Cullen is an ideal way to live. I don't know. It's nice to be in a relationship if you happen to find somebody you share the same values and dreams and not because you want to fill some void that's been there hunting you all along.
